Camp NaNoWriMo is Almost Upon Us

“There are no laws for the novel. There never have been, nor can there ever be” — Doris Lessing

Camp NaNoWriMo Begins In: days: hrs: min: sec — 5:05:18:13 and ticking down by the second …

Wow, time flies, doesn’t it? The April session of Camp NaNoWriMo is ticking closer with every second that passes.

Initially, I wasn’t sure whether I would be competing in Camp NaNoWriMo this year, but once more, the excitement of the event has lured me in. I am currently still rewriting my NaNoWriMo 2012 novel [YA Mystery/Thriller], but have decided that I will tack 30k (my Camp NaNo taget goal) onto what I have already. As I am struggling a bit with this second draft at the moment, I figured with encouragement from other participants, it will be easier to complete this second draft.

I’ve gone for a 30k goal — which is 1000 words a day. What with school work, assignment and tests to balance, I think this is a fair goal that I should be able to hopefully achieve. If not, I will be happy with whatever I manage to write. I’m going to blog weekly on my Camp NaNoWriMo status, so be prepared for a new blog post every Monday during April!

Good luck to everyone completing in the April session!

Anyone else doing the April Camp NaNoWriMo session? Comment below! (:

On a completely unrelated note: Easter is soon. Yay, chocolate!

  1. Yay! A fellow camper. I’m counting down for camp too.

My goal is 20k, because I’m going to be continuing the first draft of my WIP which is in script format in memoriam of Script Frenzy.

Best of luck with your goal! I look forward to hearing about your progress.

    • Thanks for the comment!

Ah, scriptwriting … I tried that once (last year for Script Frenzy), didn’t work out too well for me, though I admire anyone who can do it.

      Good luck as well. (:
