“A novel rough draft is like bread dough; you need to beat the crap out of it for it to rise.” — Chris Baty
I AM A VERY BAD BLOGGER.
I meant to post this on Monday, but I forgot.
Anyway, there’s not too much to tell you about this week. I’m a little ahead of what I’m supposed to be, which means I’ll probably hit my goal of 30,000 words before the 30th of April. Everything is going quite smoothly — well, as smoothly as first drafts go. It’s flawed, most of it needs to be rewritten, and there are places where I want to stab with a knife, but I will have to deal with that in a later draft.
Current word count for Week Three: 6342/7000 (since Monday, have caught up since then)
Overall word count: 26401/30000
Favourite line/s written: ‘Sara’s lips curled into a sneer. “I’m gonna break you, Juliette, and then build you back up again.”’
Next week will be the final post! (:
