Hey! It’s Sunday again! Where on earth does all the time go? Here is a wrap up of everything that’s happened this week, though I can’t say it’s really been a very interesting or productive week.
In Bookish news: This week I reviewed Don’t Look Back by Jennifer L. Armentrout. Love mystery and intrigue? This one might just be for you. I have to say it wasn’t my favourite one of her books, but an enjoyable read overall. I chose Falling Kingdoms by Morgan Rhodes for my Thursday Quotables — a high fantasy with some really powerful quotes within. My Top Ten Tuesday consisted of the books I planned to read this spring … erm, I mean autumn. Yes, autumn. It’s nice to see I’m slowly ticking off some of the popular authors I’ve never read. I went to the libray this week and couldn’t resist borrowing a much more books, which means that I posted a new Stacking the Shelves post on Friday.
In Writing News: I’ve started outlining (or my version of outlining, anyway — writing down vague plot lines and character names) my next novel. A mystery/thriller about a girl with one eye who has schizophrenia and is being framed for murders in her boarding school. Exciting stuff! Totally. I’ve also finally decided on a name — Her Darkest Infinity. This week, I’ve achieved next to nothing on my rewrite of City of Illusions … though I did reach 40,000 words, so that counts for something, right? RIGHT?! (I was at 39,000 words last week, but still.) I’ve also realized something I already knew about myself this week. I am giving myself the very respectable title of the Queen of Procrastination. Instead of writing, I’ve done my English essay, cleaned my room, and watched a lot of episodes of Modern Family (which I love, by the way). I think my procrastination is coming from a fear of getting my second draft wrong, something I’m going to have to overcome or I’ll never get it done.
That’s all for me this week. Come back tomorrow to see a review of John Dreamer by Elise Celine. What have you accomplished this week? Let me know in the comments below!
