Happy Easter Sunday to all those who celebrate! May you gorge yourself on chocolate and not feel too sick afterwards.
In Bookish News: I read and reviewed Graceling by Kristin Cashore . . . a bit of a disappointment, but overall it wasn’t a bad book, though it just didn’t live up to the hype for me. On Tuesday, I list the top ten bookish things that aren’t books (though I pushed the limits and added things from TV shows, too, because I’m such a rebel.) My Thursday Quotables post highlighted some of my favourite quotes from Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs, and my fifth Stacking the Shelves post was uploaded on Friday.
In Writing News: This week has been all about Nest Pitch, and I was thrilled to discover I had made it through! Exciting stuff, guys! A massive, massive thank you to everyone who has been involved in it to make it work — especially Sharon Johnston (you can find her on Twitter here, and at her personal blog here) who chose me to be on her team and all the slush readers. (A million thank yous, seriously.)
In other writing-related news, I posted some more information on the next novel I plan to write — another mystery/thriller which I’m super, super excited about. I plan to write it sometime in July, and join in the Camp NaNoWriMo session then. It also describes my outlining process; let me know in the comments what yours is like. Do you outline? Or do you just wing it? On Saturday, I confessed that as a writer, ironically, I’m not very good and spelling or grammar — you can read my post here.
In Other News: I reached 50 followers on the blog! Thanks to everyone who’s been reading and commenting and following! My aim for the end of the year? 100.
That’s all for this week, guys. Come back tomorrow to see a review of The Final Empire by Brandon Sanderson.
