Sunday Weekly Wrap Up (20)

Wow. Would ya look at that? My twentieth post. That’s pretty cool, okay? Okay. (Gold star to you if you got that reference.)

So this is the second (?) week of Camp NaNoWriMo, and as I’m writing this post (Saturday, 12th of July, 7:14 PM) I have 26052 words. Which officially means that I’m past halfway through! Exciting. I’m still pretty excited about the novel that I’m writing, so that’s a good thing I suppose. My aim is to finish Camp NaNoWriMo before the 20th — though perhaps that’s aiming too high??) while my stats say I’ll be finished July 24, 2014. Wish me luck!

In other news, I’ve been sneaking in some more world-building for The Empire of Stars — the novel which I will be revising after Ironheart is completed. Word building is seriously so much fun, but more than this, it’s also very, very important. Keep an eyes out on my blog for a post on world building in the next few weeks!

This week I also read Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn. (And yes I will admit that most of my motivation for reading it was because of the adapt ion…) So if this is a book you’re interested in reading, I’ll be posting a review in a few weeks’ time. (Once I’ve caught up with the massive pile of books I need to review…) Currently, though, my current read is The Intern by Gabrielle Tozer — and I AM LOVING IT.

ALSO? I FIGURED OUT HOW TO CHANGE THE COLOUR OF MY FONT. (If there are any other nifty WordPress things I had no idea about… please let me know!)

So, what can you expect from me next week? A book review of City of Heavenly Fire by Cassandra Clare (spoiler free, don’t worry!) and Unhinged by A.G Howard. (Also spoiler free… but I need Ensnared NOW.) Also another Beautiful People Meme (see here), and more!

What happened this week?

Monday — Book Review: The Secret Diamond Sisters by Michelle Madow; urgh, spare me the drama! [1/5 stars]

Tuesday — Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Blogging Confessions — what are yours!?

Wednesday — Stacking the Shelves (8); books, books, books!

Thursday — Book Review: The Impossible Knife of Memory by Laurie Halse Anderson [3/5 stars]

Friday — I talked about re-reading books! (Do you do it!? Let me know!)

Saturday — Camp NaNoWriMo Excerpt #2

How’s your week been? Let me know!

  1. How do you write so many words in only 12 days? That is amazing! I only wrote 11k so far, but my goal is only 25k, so I’m a bit ahead. When I’m done with my WIP, I, too, have to do some serious worldbuilding. When I started planning my WIP I had no idea how to worldbuild, but before I do revisions, I’ll probably follow along with the Go Teen Writers Worldbuidling series to help me.

  2. Yay for over halfway!! Congrats :) we always seem to be pretty close to each other whenever NaNo rolls around. As I’m writing this comment I just got to 30k, which is awesome. I want to finish by the 20th as well :) Congrats on your 20th post! I keep missing your posts so I think I’m going to re-subscribe (it goes dodgy sometimes). Can’t wait to read your NaNo excerpts, I’m about to go back to that post.

As for nifty WordPress tricks, I recently discovered headings! It’s all the way to and I think it’s different for every theme. Just have a play around! bracket to begin and then to end. So glad you liked The Intern as well – I’m still fangirling about that book.
