Top Ten Tuesday: Ten Authors I Own The Most Books From

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. You can find all the awesome details of the meme right here. If you run a blog, I highly suggest you join it — it’s great fun!

So here’s the thing about me. I probably borrow more books than I buy, meaning while I do have a lot of books I’ve bought, often I might have only one or two from each order — perhaps the second or third in a series, or something like that. And therefore I roughtly have the same about of books from each author — which is why this list only contains four authors. This week’s theme was actually kinda difficult because I wasn’t sure who to put on my list. (Yes, I considered not linking up this week, but I haven’t missed a TTT since I started blogging regularly.)

1. J.K Rowling.

I’m getting the feeling that Rowling is going to be on most people’s list this week! I own every Harry Potter book but for the fourth and third (I need to rectify this immediately) but I also have two copies of The Chamber of Secrets. One was practically falling apart.

2. Emily Rodda.

I used to adore her Deltora Quest series as a kid — I’m pretty sure I own them all! (And yes, these books are also falling apart.)

3. George R. R. Martin.

I bought a set box of A Song of Ice and Fire. There are seven books altogether — with the third and fifth novel in the series split into two volumes because they are seriously obese.

4. Richelle Mead.

I read the Vampire Academy series a few years ago, and over the months I found cheap copies of each book here and there. So now I have the complete series, as well as The Fiery Heart from her Bloodlines series. I think I have seven of her books all together.

Like I said at the beginning — short list this week. Which authors/books are on your list? Link me to your Top Ten Tuesday below!

  1. Yup, I’m sure J K Rowling will be on pretty much every list (whenever I visit people’s houses I usually see the series in the family bookshelf!!). Nothing wrong with a short list. I used to love Emily Rodda as well :) It would be cool to have Richelle Mead’s books, though, as she has the same last name as me… :P

  2. You own all of Emily’s Rodda’s Deltora Quest books? Now that is some serious dedication, especially since there are so many books in the series!

I haven’t read any of the books by the authors on these lists. I’m not much of a fantasy reader, unless it’s LOTR, The Hobbit or The Chronicles of Narnia. I’m also not much of a paranormal/vampire reader, either.

  3. I almost considered skipping this too…buuut, I wanted to take photos of books. (Perfectly good reason to join up, right?!) I have an embarrassingly sad book collection. I own all the Lemony Snicket books, but honestly, that’s like my biggest collection. Mostly everything else is just pairs. And the covers neeeever match because I bought so many 2nd hand. It’s a cause of great grief, yes, because I’m slightly bookishly OCD sometimes. x) Hehe. I only own 2 Harry Potter books!

This TTT topic isn’t kind to irregular collectors, is it? =P The sight of my Tenner of the week makes me wish that I had bought instead of borrowed a lot of expensive books, when I had the chance! As it stands, the “cheap” books dominate the list. LOL!
