Favourite Screen Characters Tag / Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Favorite Heroines From Books (Yes, I’m late. Sue me.)

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.

A couple of days ago I was tagged by Brett for the Favourite Screen Characters tag, and so I thought I would merge that and this week’s Top Ten Tuesday (Thursday . . .)  together to form one post. Enjoy! To make it fair I’ve split it up five a piece. In no particular order . . . Just FYI, this was HARD. I feel like I’ve missed so many epic characters.

Top FIVE Characters on Screen

1. Sarah Connor — The Terminator.

Seriously. If she’s not everyone’s favourite then I don’t know who the hell is.

2. Bastila Shan — Knights of the Old Republic.

Thumbs up to you if you know who I’m talking about. I used to play this game A LOT when I was younger. Admittedly, I don’t remember much of it now, but I do remember thinking just how awesome this chick was.

3. James Ford — Lost.

I liked looking at him, okay? (I DID love his character, too, just for the record.)

4. River Song — Doctor Who.

See gif below.

5. Shawn Spencer — Psych.

Again, I think the following gif demonstrates why.

6. Daenerys Targaryen — A Game of Thrones.

Because she burns people. With dragons.

7. Arya Stark — A Game of Thrones.

How can you not like her?

8. Éowyn — The Lord of the Rings.

Quite possibly my favourite female character from that entire trilogy. <3

9. Hazel Grace — The Fault in Our Stars.

She’s a heroine in her own right, I believe.

10. Hermione Granger — Harry Potter.

Oh-so-predictable from me, I know! Book power, FTW.

    • Doctor Who is a fantastic show. :) If you ever have the time then it’s something I would so recommend. I’m about to start reading The Hobbit, actually. Sadly I couldn’t really “get into” the LOTR books, but I’ve heard that The Hobbit is really good. :)

  1. Hahah, Hermione is a must, she was on my list too!! I love that you included on screen characters and I still need to read A Game of Thrones… it seems like it has so many strong characters in it!

    • Definitely a must! ;) Oohm yes, AGoT has SO MANY strong female characters. Seriously, so many. I think that is one of the reasons I love the books (and the show really) a lot — Martian doesn’t condescend women, instead giving them such strong roles. :)

  2. I love all of your books-choices! Arya and Daenerys are probably my favorite characters in Game of Thrones. And Hermione, you know, she’s the girl I looked up to and aspired to be when I was younger.

I haven’t seen any of the on-screen options though… Maybe I should start there!
