Sunday Weekly Wrap Up (60) & Stacking the Shelves (40)

Sunday weekly wrap up

  • THIS HAPPENED THIS WEEK. (Actually. Now I’m on 105 books. GIVE ME MOAAAAR.)

2015-reading-challenge

  • Books read this week: Breaking the Rules by Katie McGarry | Ensnared by A. G. Howard (I know a lot of people were a bit iffy about that ending — and even I thought it was a little… easy? But still I adore this book.) | Autumn Rose by Abigail Gibbs | Talon by Julie Kagawa (reviewing this on Monday — dragons, YAAAY!) | The Spook’s Apprentice by Joseph Delaney | Stolen by Melissa de la Cruz & Michael Johnston | The Pirate’s Wish by Cassandra Rose Clark | A Small Madness by Dianne Touchell |

  • Currently reading: Stolen Songbird by Danielle Jensen (enjoying this so far — but I thought trolls were supposed to be, I don’t know, all troll-like?)
  • This week I tried — and failed — to watch Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D again. I just… cannot get into this show. It’s not my thing, whereas heaps of people seem to like it. Have you watched it — what do you think?
  • I also watched The Maze Runner this week! And you know what? I liked it! I wasn’t the biggest fan of the book, but I thought it was a pretty good adaptation. (AND OKAY. So maybe I do have a soft-spot for Dylan O’Brien. So that helped.)

  • I hit 80 followers on Bloglovin’. Small milestones, people. Small milestones.

  • A Small Madness by Dianne Touchell
  • Weightless by Sarah Bannan (thanks to Kelly & Bloomsbury for this one!)
  • Since You’ve Been Gone by Morgan Matson (heard heaaaaaps of good stuff from this!)
  • Avery by Charlotte McConaghy
  • Written in Red by Anne Bishop

On the Blog . . .

MONDAY was all about fairytales and folklore — AKA The Darkest Part of the Forest by Holly Black. (spoiler: I loved this one.) WEDNESDAY I talked about villains and heroes (again!) and highlighted specific types. Luckily, I lugged my camera around with me all week and came across those peacocks again, and posted some photos on FRIDAY. And lastly, yesterday, SATURDAY, I confessed I’m not giving star-ratings with my reviews anymore… and I tell you why. Tell me what you think!

Welcome to the end of another week… and the beginning of another? (And, on top of that — it’s May! Already!) How has your week been? Any new books? Link me to your lovely posts!

  1. OH MY GOODNESS SINCE YOU’VE BEEN GONE WAS SO GOOD I HOPE YOU LIKE IT!!! Also, yes, I really liked THe Maze Runner as well – more than the book :) Oh, and congrats on 100 books and 80 Bloglovin’ followers! That’s awesome :D You and Cait are reading CRAZY FAST.

  2. I just found your blog and — so cool — I liked ‘The Maze Runner’ movie too. The book was kind of ‘eh’ but I thought the movie was worth it.

And since I read ‘Talon last month I will definitely being coming back for your review to see what you thought about it!

  3. Wow, you’ve read over 100 books already this year? That is so amazing!
Congratulations on reaching 80 bloglovin’ followers.
    I love Agent’s of S.H.I.E.L.D. it’s a shame you can’t get into it.
You got some great books there. Weightless is full on but it is a great read. Prepare to be angry.
I loved Avery and hope you enjoy it too.

    • I never really considered I was a fast reader before, but I think I might be. xD Maybe one day I’ll give that show another go, but for the moment, I plenty — AKA too much — to watch. And yeah, I’ve heard that about Weightless, and I have to confess I’m a liiiiiiiiiiitle nervous for it, though at the same time really looking forward to reading it. :)

  4. 80 FOLLOWERS!!!!! YAYAAYAYAY!!!! CONGRATULATIONS!! Honestly that’s pretty big to me since I only have 20 or so. I somehow can’t get into Marvel’s S.H.I.E.L.D as well! The ads always look so cool but every time I begin watching it, I always end up getting a little bored and just flicking to another show. oops. At least we’re no alone.

  5. UM WHAT IN THE WORLD KARA?!?! I’m so jealous but so proud of you all at the same time! wow, only May and you’ve read 105 books!? What, how do you do it?!

I do watch Agents of SHIELD, but I haven’t caught up lately thanks to work being crazy busy. :( I do like it but it’s nothing amazing. Yay for reaching 80 Bloglovin followers too, definitely an amazing milestone! :D :D

Hope you have a great week and enjoy all your awesome books xx

  6. Wonderful week and congrats on surpassing the reading challenge! I’m shaking my head in wonder. :D
Also: congrats on the eighty bloglovin followers, let’s hope you get some more!
AAAAAND: I watched Agents of Shield but I missed quite a few episodes and sort of missed the whole plot. I know. It’s a great tv show but not the best one out there that’s Marvel-esque so you won’t miss much by not watching it! :D

  7. I can’t WAIT to see what you think of Talon. I just finished Rogue and have my review going up this week. And… It’s not pretty. But hold the presses, holy bloody crap. You’ve already hit over 100 books this year. 100! Are you eating them in your sleep? Ingesting the words as you dream of Dylan O’Brian. Ooh, saucy.

And 80 Bloglovin’ followers is no mean feat. HOORAY! It’s really hard to break into the blogging gig, but you’re well and truly imbedded now. Upwards and so forth! I’m really not all that great at 4:30am motivational speaking. Actually, I probably shouldn’t even be trying to put words together at this time of morning.

But Weightless, oh please read it soon. I loved it, angrily, but still loved it.
Have a fabulous week of reading Kara, by next weekend you’ll probably be up to 120 books read :D

    • Ahhhh gosh. And here I was having such hopes for the sequel. Sigh. I’ll be interested to read your review, Kelly. Why yes, I AM eating books in my sleep! (Or, more likely, my insomnia provides ample opportunity to read.) 4:30!? Dear god. How do you survive!? I’ll definitely be reading Weightless soon. :)

  8. Congrats on your 80 followers Kara, definitely celebrate all the small milestones early on! You’ll soon have many more. Oh mannn SHIELD. I could not get into it, it felt so kiddy you know? I stopped watching after a few episodes. HAHA I totally laughed at your troll-like comment. Truth.
