Recently Acquired Books || AKA Books I Hope to Devour Soon

Today I’m linking up with these two memes — Stacking the Shelves & Top Ten Tuesday — for today’s post. And, well, yes… I am aware it’s NOT Tuesday. Buuuuut I saw this week’s Top Ten Tuesday theme, and just couldn’t resist. And so I behold to you: my most recently acquired books. (Do you have any idea JUST how PAINFUL it was to only choose ten??)

1. A Darker Shade of Magic by Victoria Schwab.

FINALLY, FINALLY, FINALLY. I also may or may not have squealed when I saw this sitting on the New Books shelf.

2. Ignite by Sara B. Larson.

I enjoyed the first one, and so I’m quite curious to see how this series will develop.

3. The Mime Order by Samantha Shannon.

Currently reading the first one and LOVING it, so how could I resist this one!?

4. Shadow Scale by Rachel Hartman.

Ooookay, so I’ve had the first one sitting on my shelf for AGES — and I thought, “Well. It’s a dragon book. So I better get the second one ASAP.” (I think this sums up my dragon feels accurately.)

5. Crimson Bound by Rosamund Hodge.

EEEEEEEP. Isn’t it PRETTY? Just LOOK at the inside!!

6. Uprooted by Naomi Novik.

Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous hardcover. Plus, I’ve heard GREAT things about this one.

7. The Girl At Midnight by Melissa Grey.

REALLY looking forward to this one.

8. Throne of Glass/The Assassin’s Blade by Sarah J. Maas.

So obviously, I had to buy the hardcover editions to match the rest of my series, right??

9. The Diamond Throne by David Eddings.

So I picked this up for $1.50. $1.50, people! How can a mere mortal like myself resist THAT? Besides, this looks pretty dang badass, so, you know, there’s that too.

10. World After by Susan Ee.

It’s literally been YEARS since I read Angelfall, and I’m eager to see what I’ll think of this sequel.

Aaaaaand here you have it. A Stacking the Shelves/Top Ten Tuesday mashup. Anything here you’ve read — and LOVED? And that I simply MUST read? Also: what books have you recently acquired? IN OTHER NEWS — I reached 101 Bloglovin’ followers!! GAHH. THANK YOU, ALL!!

  1. Uprooted looks so glorious although it also looks very big 0_0 hopefully it doesn’t waffle in the middle. World After is a lot like the vein of Angelfall so if you loved the first book then you’ll tend to love the second. Although I warn you to be prepared for a lack of Raffe for most of the book :(

  2. That hardcover Throne of Glass is simply a beauty. I literally stared at that photo for such a long time. It was that hypnotising. I absolutely live the haul! You must have a great local library. Mine only ever gets 3 new books and they eventually just phase out of the library.

  3. Oh man so many amazing books on this list! I’ve been thinking of getting myself a copy of Uprooted. It’d look awesome on the shelf, and it’s been getting such rave reviews!

  4. I still need to read World After as well! I recently bought End of Days as well so I have the complete set to finish the series without having to find the other books – so here’s to hoping we both enjoy them :) Uprooted has been getting a lot of attention, so looking forward to seeing what you think. Hope you enjoy all your new reads Kara!

  5. Oh my! Those Throne of Glass editions are absolutely lovely! I’m another one who needs to read World After. I actually preordered it before it came out, and it’s still sitting unread on my shelf. Which is funny, because I loved Angelfall. I can’t wait to see what you think of The Girl at Midnight. It had a mild Throne of Glass feel to it for me. Ohhh, so many incredible books this week Kara, a massive week of reading ahead. Congratulations on the Bloglovin’ milestone poppet, awesome stuff! <3

  6. Where did you find a copy of the hardcopy throne of glass? I have the rest of the series in hardcopy but cannot find the first one for the life of me! I need the same one you do!
