Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.
Bookish characters are always the ones I’ll love the most. They’re the ones I GET. But in saying that, this week’s post was HARD. Like, I couldn’t actually think of that many — hence why I didn’t actually get to ten this week.
1. Tyrion Lannister.
“I have a realistic grasp of my own strengths and weaknesses. My mind is my weapon. My brother has his sword, King Robert has his warhammer, and I have my mind… and a mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge. That’s why I read so much, Jon Snow.” (A Game of Thrones — George R.R. Martin)
2. Hermione Granger.
“Oh, honestly, don’t you two read?” (Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone — J.K Rowling)
3. Alaksa Young.
“When I look at my room, I see a girl who loves books.” (Looking For Alaska — John Green)
4. Bilbo Baggins.
“Books ought to have good endings.” (The Fellowship of the Ring — J. R.R. Tolkien)
“So Matilda’s strong young mind continued to grow, nurtured by the voices of all those authors who had sent their books out into the world like ships on the sea. These books gave Matilda a hopeful and comforting message: You are not alone.” (Matilda — Roald Dahl)
“What I love most in the world are my books.” (Beauty and the Beast — Disney)
7. Celaena Sardothien.
“Libraries were full of ideas — perhaps the most dangerous and powerful of all weapons.”
